Advanced Proportional & Non-Proportional Reinsurance

For the first time we are offering a more advanced workshop to complement the more introductory, Basic Level, course presented for several years.  In this highly interactive and attendee participative workshop, John Chaplin of Compass Reinsurance Consulting, LLC will be back to provide a higher level of detail and analysis of the two basic forms of treaty reinsurance. During the afternoon of the second day you will hear from active practitioners in the reinsurance marketplace and who will  present the hot topics of today.

This workshop is geared to attendees who have a minimum of 2 years involvement in a technical area of reinsurance, such as underwriting, actuarial, broking, claims or accounting, or who have attended the elementary Proportional & Non-Proportional Reinsurance Workshop.

The workshop will be held at the midtown Manhattan law offices of Schiff Hardin LLP located at 666 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY. The building is located between 52nd.& 53rd. streets. Schiff Hardin's principal office in Chicago hosted our Actuarial Principles seminar last September and again we are extremely grateful for their kind hospitality in offering use of their New York office this year.

A networking reception will be held at the close of day one.

Registration fees are $1,050 for IRU member company attendees and $1,350 for non-IRU member registrants. Seating is limited so don't delay!

Making Sense of Reinsurance
Contracts

Another new IRU seminar now available for online registration. This seminar is being coordinated by highly experienced Guy Carpenter professionals and will give attendees not only a good grounding in reinsurance treaty construction with an emphasis on the most important contractual elements as well as the ability to think through contract issues logically. There will be plenty of practical, hands-on, case study examples. The origin and intent of certain clauses will be explained as well as how they interact with others within a contract wording. This seminar is intended for attendees with some knowledge of reinsurance contracts but will cater to all experience levels.

Current contract wording issues such as multi-year agreements; expansion of occurrence hours clauses will be addressed along with global contractual issues such as trade sanctions; capital convergence/collateralized markets, cyber liability & terrorism risks. So get ready for a thoroughly up-to-the minute seminar!

Our thanks are due to the law firm of Crowell & Moring LLP who, again, have kindly offered to host the IRU at their midtown Manhattan location at 590 Madison Avenue (between 56th & 57th streets).  The Crowell firm was our host for the very successful Next Generation Reinsurance Leadership seminar in July 2014

Seating is limited to 55 and the registration fee for the 2-day event is $1,050 for IRU member company attendees and $1,350 for non-IRU member company registrants. Continental breakfast and a buffet lunch will be provided each day and there will be a Networking Reception for all at the conclusion of day one.
