Our focus is to provide educational seminars covering all facets of the Property/Casualty, Reinsurance, and Life insurance industries.

Financial seminars impart the interpretive and analytical skills needed to evaluate individual insurance companies for a variety of purposes, including credit and investment analysis and mergers & acquisitions. Other programs include training in underwriting practices, reinsurance (including accounting and auditing), and corporate finance workshops for non-financial staff. Specialty presentations address topics of current interest and are delivered by a faculty of industry experts.

Classes are structured in an informal workshop format and are limited in enrollment to encourage interaction among participants and instructor. Unless otherwise noted, all seminars are held in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Seminar Aims

Reinsurance and Insurance organizations face a number of challenges in the current environment including industry price competition, migration to a larger financial services universe and raising the necessary capital / equity to meet the first two challenges. Analysts need to be able to understand and evaluate the financial operations of these organizations in order to identify the potential for profit and growth of an individual company and assess its current credit quality debt capacity. Our seminars are designed to provide the qualitative and quantitative tools needed to undertake an analysis of the insurance industry and to determine the credit quality of an individual company.

Objectives

On completion of the training, participants will be able to:

• Appreciate the intrinsic financial dynamics of the insurance business.
• Identify and interpret key financial ratios and trends.
• Recognize an insurance company's inherent value, potential risks and problems.
• Comprehend the mechanics of cash flow projections to predict future payment patterns
• Understand and use rating methodologies.
• Create well-reasoned, substantial conclusions regarding the current and future position of insurance companies.
